We cover Canterbury + All of the UK – We come to you for the training:

We provide bespoke advanced/defensive driver training to companies and private individuals using our national network of DVSA-registered advanced driving instructors.
.

No two drivers are the same, which is why we have created a range of course options to fit your needs.
.

3.5hr – Mostly opted for by business customers when training a number of drivers back to back. It’s also open to private customers too who only need a shorter course. The 3.5hr course is our shortest course available.

3.5hr x 2 – If you don’t fancy a full day but want to cover more than a 3.5hr session, then this split course is great. The 2 sessions can be split over a few days or weeks. Sometimes we can run this course over two days.

7hr full day – Intensive in its nature. But it is a great way to get the course done in one day. It’s certainly tiring but a great option for those pressed for time.

We have more specialist courses for drivers – 3,4,5 x 3.5hr courses. Mainly designed for private customers but is also open to business clients for specific at-risk drivers. Courses are either a full day or a half-day. We can arrange for one tutor to train two drivers in a day, each driver is trained for 3.5 hours, and a number of our national clients opt for this due to the cost and time savings.

For all our bespoke driving courses in Canterbury, we provide training on a range of roads and different areas, which can include:

Motorway training – Canterbury does not have a dedicated motorway, but the fast routes, such as the A2 that links to the M2 at Faversham and the A28 that links the M20 near Kennington, are easily accessed for motorway confidence training. We can create a route specific to your most difficult journeys and help with the many issues that motorway driving can bring. Entering and exiting junctions at speed is a huge worry for some, and we can help you to do this safely, as well as teaching several advanced driver systems to help with better observations and forward planning. Although there are fewer accidents on a motorway than on other roads such as town or rural, they are mostly quite severe due to the speed of travel, and they tend to be around the junctions. This could be because of last-minute panic about missing a junction or on the large roundabouts on exiting. By understanding the regulations of motorway driving, you should be able to navigate these busy routes confidently.

Rural Roads – Surrounded by picturesque countryside, Canterbury has many rural roads within a few miles of the town. The A257 Wingham Road towards Marshborough and Woodhamborough is a very hazardous rural route seeing many accident sites along the way, very similar to the roads between Blean, Tyler Hill and Broad Oak. Rural driving has specific challenges, from very windy roads, often single track, to seasonal issues such as flooding or tree falls plus untreated icy roads. Understanding how to position yourself correctly on the road for maximum observations can be vital, especially on narrow lanes.

Urban Training – Canterbury is a thriving, busy town, and the centre is mainly pedestrianised, but the Pin Hill and Broad street ring road has seen many accidents, and these tend to be during rush hours when many drivers are inpatient and just not making sufficient observations before making a move out of a busy junction. Urban driving needs great mirror work and indications so that you know your surroundings and other divers know your intentions. These can be taught easily and significantly improve your attitude towards urban driving. If you are considering a delivery role or have to drive in urban areas for work, some extra training will be very beneficial and will help you with all areas of your driving capabilities.

“I needed a refresher/confidence course after a serious accident. Motorways terrified me. I not only regained my confidence, but I also eliminated some rather bad habits, which I didn’t realise was putting me at increased risk.”

M. Hickman, Kent.

During a session, we typically look at:

* Forward planning and observation
* Speed Awareness
* Developing a positive attitude towards safer driving
* How to become a safer driver on all roads
* Car or van control (gears, steering, foot controls, signals)
* Rules of the road
* Dealing with road rage
* Reversing and manoeuvres
* Dealing with adverse weather
* Town and urban defensive driving
* Driving in heavy traffic and allowing adequate space
* Skid control theory and learning what causes skids
* Eco-safe driving (effective use of speed, gears, planning)
* Anticipation – Learning to see and not just look
* Understanding other road users and their intentions
