Our advanced driving courses in Buckinghamshire cover a range of roads, including the M40, which is ideal for the motorway portion of our course. Depending on your location in the county, we also provide training on the A4010, A413 and A421 – and many more roads. Our courses cover motorway driving, urban driving – along with rural driving. Rural driving is a key part of the training as this is where we can really work on car control and forward planning, which can then be implemented into other elements of the day.

For all our bespoke driving courses in Buckinghamshire, we provide training on a range of roads and different areas, which can include:

Motorway training – The M25 on the northeastern edge of Buckinghamshire runs south from Slough to Gerrards Cross, where it joins the M40 running east to Leighton Buzzard and west, merging into the A40 in Oxford. The junction of the M40 and the A435 is an ideal length of fast road to enhance your motorway skills; the entering and exiting of drivers find can be quite challenging, along with knowing the correct lanes to be situated. The A418 cuts through the middle of Buckinghamshire and circles Aylesbury. From here, you can join the A41 to Bicester and Hemel Hempstead, and all routes can be easily accessed across Buckinghamshire. Although no other motorways exist in Buckinghamshire, some of the faster dual carriageways are multi-lane and very useful for motorway training.

Rural Roads – Buckinghamshire, although close to London, has many beautiful green areas crisscrossed with small rural roads linking pretty villages and rural farming areas within small distances from vibrant and busy towns. Many people feel uncomfortable navigating these smaller lanes, often single track, but many driving techniques can help with this, such as the Limit point and commentary driving. Within a few miles of High Wycombe, you will come across the Chiltern hills to the west and the east, the B474 towards Chalfont St Peter. Whereas toward Buckingham on the A413, you can pick up the A421 between the M40 and Bletchley. Although small, the rural roads in this area can be very busy, with farm vehicles often seen out and about.

Urban Training – Some of the towns in Buckinghamshire, such as Beaconsfield and Amersham, are becoming very busy due to the close distance from London. With this comes new town centre routes and bypasses that help with the more significant traffic. Often multi-lane junctions and large roundabouts are replacing the older roads, and these can be very confusing, especially when driving in an area that you are not familiar with. Most towns in Buckinghamshire are implementing newer routes to deal with additional traffic flow, and most will have retail estates away from the centre. It is good to understand how to deal with urban routes confidently and, of course, the added diversions while the new roads are being constructed, all of which can be covered when training with us.
