We currently help a number of companies and private individuals in and around the city of Bath who want to improve their driving with an advanced driving course. We have a number of advanced driving tutors based in and around Bath who can provide both a half-day or full-day course.
We cover Bath + All of the UK – We come to you for the training:
No two drivers are the same, which is why we have created a range of course options to fit your needs.
3.5hr – Mostly opted for by business customers when training a number of drivers back to back. It’s also open to private customers too who only need a shorter course. The 3.5hr course is our shortest course available.
3.5hr x 2 – If you don’t fancy a full day but want to cover more than a 3.5hr session, then this split course is great. The two sessions can be split over a few days or weeks. Sometimes we can run this course over two days.
7hr full day – Intensive in its nature. But it is a great way to get the course done in one day. It’s certainly tiring but a great option for those pressed for time.
We have more specialist courses for drivers – 3,4,5 x 3.5hr courses. Mainly designed for private customers but is also open to business clients for specific at-risk drivers.
Our advanced driving courses are designed to significantly improve the standard of driving of an individual, regardless of their level of experience. We can help coach drivers who drive 30,000+ miles a year and may have many years of experience. Equally, we also have a vast level of experience in helping drivers with limited driving experience, maybe they are newly qualified or are new to the UK.
Remember – We build all our driving courses from scratch and are built around your specific needs. This applies to both business and private customers all over the UK. .
For all our bespoke driving courses in Bath, we provide training on a range of roads and different areas, which can include:
Motorway training – The nearest dedicated motorways around Bath are toward Bristol on A4 through Keynsham and the M5 or the M4 via the A46 north. These are very busy routes, especially in the summer months with much tourism in the area. Motorway driving can be very worrying if you have not used them for a while or have had an incident that has caused a loss of confidence. There are several advanced driving methods that we can teach any driver that will show you how to use better skills to improve your planning and observations, overtaking worries or staying at the correct speed for entering and exiting concerns. Once you have some extra training, you will realise that there are many driving aspects you never encountered while passing your driving test. We deliver motorway confidence courses for many newly qualified drivers to ensure that their motoring career gets off to an exceptionally safe start.
Rural Roads – Set in beautiful Somerset, Bath is surrounded by glorious rural roads with picturesque villages but is also sadly littered with hundreds of accident sites on the minor roads. To drive confidently on rural roads is a must, especially if you are used to a more urban environment. In the towns, you have many signs and directions, with good lighting, but there is very little of these in the countryside, and this is where drivers come to harm. Due to the location, there are many camping sites where visitors are unfamiliar with the area, or the minor lanes can be slow with caravans and motorhomes in the summer, as well as seasonal farming vehicle activity. For example, the A362 via Radstock and Midsomer Norton and the B3110 Midford Road are particularly hazardous routes. Still, you are only a few miles away from a rural road in Bath, so it is essential to have a level of rural driving knowledge if you have a trip on the horizon.
Urban Training – Bath is a bustling city all year round with a thriving tourist economy. Over the years, the amount of traffic has grown, and many new routes have been created to allow better flow in the inner urban areas. The A36 will enable you to skirt around Bath but has many confusing junctions and multilane traffic light systems. Many accidents appear to be at junctions, where speed may be slower but still very much chaotic. Much of the centre of Bath is either pedestrianised or one-way systems and can bring problems such as busy roads, rush hour traffic, and cyclists. Being more aware of your surroundings when driving by using your mirrors and indicators proactively, and learning how to predict the actions of other road users can reduce urban accidents immensely.
During a session, we typically look at:
* Forward planning and observation
* Speed Awareness
* Developing a positive attitude towards safer driving
* How to become a safer driver on all roads
* Car or van control (gears, steering, foot controls, signals)
* Rules of the road
* Dealing with road rage
* Reversing and manoeuvres
* Dealing with adverse weather
* Town and urban defensive driving
* Driving in heavy traffic and allowing adequate space
* Skid control theory and learning what causes skids
* Eco-safe driving (effective use of speed, gears, planning)
* Anticipation – Learning to see and not just look
* Understanding other road users and their intentions
