Motorway training – The M5 motorway runs north to south along the western side of Avon from the midlands, right past Bristol and into Devon, where it joins the A30 at Exeter to continue south to Cornwall. From here, the M4 motorway links London into Wales and links from the M5 just north of Bristol and splits at Awkly, which is the M48. We help drivers deal with entering and exiting motorways safely and helping to avoid being boxed in by large lorries, as well as helping them to navigate the lanes correctly. The smaller M32 motorway links from the M4, which takes you into the centre of Bristol and joins the outlying areas along the A4174, such as Frenchay, Bromley Heath and Longwell Green. Rural Roads – Many rural roads throughout Avon link most towns and villages from South Gloucester down to North Somerset and across towards Wiltshire. The A420 starts just outside Bristol, running East, and at Cold Ashton, turns into a rural road through Chippenham. Clevedon road runs from the centre of Bristol towards the coast, and from here, you can pick up the B3133 to Yatton and onto Congresbury. To the north of Avon, you will find the B4058, which will take you through smaller villages such as Frampton Cotterell and into Yate. Driving on quiet rural roads can be very challenging, especially at night and our tailored courses can really help. We train drivers with many Advanced driving techniques, including the Limit point, which can make rural driving much safer.
Urban Training – The main A road that sweeps through Avon is the A38, and this starts at Mansfield in Nottingham and right down to the moors at Bodmin in Cornwall. The A38 route has many bigger towns across Avon, such as Gloucester, Thornbury, Highbridge and Bridgewater, and runs through the busy town centres. The A39 starts in Bath and runs down to Falmouth in Cornwall and past Glastonbury and Wells. Training on the more significant A roads will help considerably with town and urban driving.
