Advanced & Defensive Driving Courses Gloucestershire
We provide bespoke advanced/defensive driver training to companies and private individuals using our national network of DVSA-registered advanced driving instructors.
Course Information:
.
We have over 200 DVSA-registered fleet ADIs (Approved Driving Instructors) around the UK.
We have a number of these located in the Gloucester and Gloucestershire area and have already trained a number of company car and van drivers in this area, along with many private individuals. Gloucestershire has a wide range of roads, including the M5 and M50, which is ideal for motorway training. Also, the county has a range of challenging A roads, including the A40 and A41. Much of our advanced driving courses involve training on a range of roads, including:
Motorways – M5 and M50 depending on location
Various A-roads – Including A40, A41, A436, A435
Local Routes – Depending on location in Gloucestershire, can cover Gloucester, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Cirencester, Stroud and similar areas
No two drivers are the same, which is why we have created a range of course options to fit your needs.
3.5hr – Mostly opted for by business customers when training a number of drivers back to back. It’s also open to private customers too who only need a shorter course. The 3.5-hour course is our shortest course available.
3.5hr x 2 – If you don’t fancy a full day but want to cover more than a 3.5hr session, then this split course is great. The 2 sessions can be split over a few days or weeks. Sometimes we can run this course over 2 days.
7hr full day – Intensive in its nature. But it is a great way to get the course done in one day. It’s certainly tiring but a great option for those pressed for time.
We have more specialist courses for drivers – 3,4,5 x 3.5hr courses. Mainly designed for private customers but is also open to business clients for specific at-risk drivers.
During our advanced driver training, we cover many elements, including:
.
- Speed awareness
- How to lower the chances of having a road traffic collision
- Forward planning
- Learning the system of car control
- Commentary driving
- How to identify and eliminate bad habits
- Motorway and dual carriageway driving
- Learning how to drive in a more environmentally friendly way
- Learning how to better anticipate the actions of other drivers
- How to deal with road rage
For all our bespoke driving courses in Gloucestershire, we provide training on a range of roads and different areas, which can include:
Motorway training – The M5 running from the Midlands to Devon passes through Gloucestershire, and we have helped many drivers become more confident when using motorways. The M5 is joined at Tewkesbury, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Stroud, and Dursley, into South Gloucestershire, and towards Bristol and Avon. The M5 is incredibly busy, especially in the summer months, as it is the gateway to the coast and can be challenging to navigate for many drivers. Getting boxed in by lorries and not being sure how to change lanes safely can be significant issues if you are not confident using the motorway. If you’re in Gloucestershire, our courses will help with all aspects of motorway confidence.
Rural Roads – There are some very challenging rural roads within Gloucestershire, out towards the Forest of Dean and into south Wales driving west, and into the Cotswolds driving east. The hilly lanes throughout the Stroud Valleys can be very tight and sometimes busy. We can help navigate small country lanes and villages while providing expert driver training. Rural driving can be nerve-racking for many drivers if they are not used to them, the overtaking and reversing on narrow roads are some of the worries that we deal with. After training, you will feel more confident with a range of driving systems that can really help you.
Urban Training – The bigger towns throughout Gloucestershire include Gloucester, Cheltenham, and Cirencester in the Cotswolds. These can be troublesome areas, especially when new roads and junctions are being constructed and bigger retail parks have sprung up considerably in the last few years. For example, the one-way system through Cheltenham can be very tricky if you do not know the area, but with excellent driver training, we can help. Many towns will have ring roads circling the centre, and with some good local knowledge and excellent tutoring, you can become much more confident when driving in urban areas
