Advanced & Defensive Driving Courses Wiltshire
A number of our advanced driving tutors are located in Wiltshire, where we provide driver training for both businesses and private clients.
Training can be done on a 2:1 basis, with one driver going out in the morning for 3.5 hours and another in the afternoon for the same duration. We also do 1 to 1 driver training for both half and full day.

For all our bespoke driving courses in Wiltshire, we provide training on a range of roads and different areas, which can include:
Motorway training – Wiltshire’s main motorway is the M4 from Bristol to London in the north of the county. There are also other faster routes with dual carriageways, such as the A350 that joins the A36 and the A303 in the south of the county. Motorway driving is a skill that requires some confidence as the higher speeds and more traffic can be worrying. With a small amount of training, you can learn advanced driving systems of car control that can really help you to push through any issues and use the motorways safely and with good composure. Entering and exiting motorway junctions, knowing how to avoid problems such as HGVs, and maintaining the correct speed are just a few things we cover. Motorway confidence courses are fabulous for new drivers or drivers looking to drive vans for work purposes, and we also help those who have lost confidence for many reasons. Every driver has unique issues, and tailored training is very successful, especially for those returning to driving after a collision.
Rural Roads – The beautiful county of Wiltshire is littered with rural roads and country lanes, and it has a thriving farming community. Driving in rural areas has specific problems, such as ice and snow in the winter and, of course, floods, which nowadays tend to occur in any month of the year. In the summer, you can expect a lot of farm machinery on the roads, tourists and cyclists, especially during the weekends. The winter months can bring fallen trees alongside the aforementioned ice and snow, sometimes making many lanes impassable. There is little if any street lights, and warning signs can be limited, so rural driving can be very hazardous, plus the fact rural roads can be fast and windy with varying road surfaces – not an ideal combination! It has shown that many accidents in rural areas are from younger drivers or those unfamiliar with the area. For example, the B4005 and the A463 from Wroughton have seen many accidents with, sadly, high fatalities. Understanding how to use rural roads well is a must if you intend to drive on them.
Urban Training – The largest town in Wiltshire is Swindon, and we have seen many drivers undertake driver training with excellent results. For example, the meeting of the A419 to the M4 and routes into Swindon are used throughout our training sessions, as well as A30 and the A36 junctions into Salisbury. All towns will have busier urban areas with one-way systems around the town centres to the large ring roads and multilane traffic light systems, which can be confusing if you are unfamiliar with them. With urban driving, the accident rates are pretty high, and they do tend to be very close to junctions at lower speeds, where drivers are not paying enough attention or are cut up by other drivers being impatient. Maintaining your composure in frustrating urban environments is essential, especially during rush hours or following unknown diversion routes.
