Motorway training – Bradford is a highly populated town in Yorkshire between Halifax and Leeds and is served by the M606 in the south, linking to the M62, which runs from Manchester and ends in Humberside. Many drivers fear motorway travel due to the higher speeds, multi-lanes and more traffic, which can cause anxiety and make a driver avoid motorway driving. With a little extra training on motorways, we can help you gain your freedom from stress and use the motorway systems safely and confidently. Driving on motorways is statistically the safest way to travel, although when accidents do happen, they tend to often be near motorway junctions where drivers are unsure about the right speed to enter and exit. Rural Roads – There are many rural areas around Bradford, especially to the west of the town towards Oxenhope and Hebden Bridge via the A6033 and to the north via the A629 towards Denholm. Many accidents have been found on roads such as these, especially between Denholm and Allerton. On rural roads, there are many hazards, and at certain times of the year, according to the weather, it can be particularly challenging due to flooding, ice or trees falling across the road, making lanes impassable. When driving in rural areas, it is essential to understand that there are fewer signs and hardly any street lighting, so you should alter your driving accordingly. There is always the temptation to speed in rural areas as there are fewer speed cameras. This is where many drivers come to harm as winding rural roads do not always allow a driver to see oncoming traffic in time. During an advanced driver training rural driving session, we can teach many techniques to help you stay safe and seen in rural settings.
Urban Training – Bradford is an extremely hectic and bustling town, and in the inner city areas, there are many new routes to help with traffic around the centre. The A6177 circles the town with many junctions and roundabouts. The roads leading into the town centre, such as the Leeds Road, east and the Thornton Road, west, are littered with accident sites, and most of these may have been avoided with a little extra attention. Bradford centre has an extensive one-way system, which can be very confusing if you are unfamiliar with the area. We can show drivers a better way to drive in urban areas without the frustration that rush hour traffic can bring. Most accidents found in Bradford tend to be on the larger urban roundabouts, such as the one near the Courts on the A6181 linking to the A641. They may be caused by impatience and drivers not being aware of their surroundings. Although urban driving accidents seem much less severe than those caused by speed, they can still be costly and chaotic.
